    Hello!

Do you need an additional preservative to final product if you add an aloe that already has a preservative in It to the solid phase (cooled after heated combination phase) of a butter

Aloe is water soluble, butters are not.

I think we need a little more detail. How are you combining them?

Aloe, as you know….is magnificent bug food.

I melt down the butters and waxes first (cocoa, shea, beeswax,) combined with my oils and cetearyl alcohol. After It cools and solidifies the following day I add aloe that has a preservative already in It and whip It together with a mixer. I have not had an issue with the formulation remaining solid, but should I be adding a preservative again to the final product after adding the aloe even though the aloe has a preservative in It.

Is aloe the only source of water? Do you see this as oil in water or water in oil emulsion?

Preservation of the finished product is your responsibility - not your supplier’s.

If you determine no further preservation is needed, you’ll need to add the supplier’s preservative (system) top your ingredient label.’

Yes, aloe if the only source of water. I would call it a water in oil emulsion. I am aware that the preservative of the final product is my responsibility, hence why I’m asking for guidance on if I need another preservative after adding the aloe. I will ultimately have microbial and stability testing performed, but want to have the best odds of being successful with the initial formulation.
