What glass “dish” should I use for my hotplate?
I am getting a new hotplate and want a “double boiler”-kind of set up where I have a glass dish on the bottom, add water too it, and then add my beakers into a warm bath. I saw these online, but I am hoping there is a cheaper alternative under a different name?
I guess I could use this, but is the glass too thick for my purposes?

Here is the product that I was thinking I should use as the “base” for my water bath, but I am wondering if there might be a cheaper alternative under a different product name?

The cheap alternative should work. As long as you can boil water in it and it is pyrex, that will be fine.

actually, that is a good point: it is not borosilicate glass, so I’m not sure how heat-proof it will be.

We opt for good quality stainless steel pots. I find them a lot more robust and easier to use.
