  Thickening water to a solid stick form

  I see a lot of water based stick formulations like serum sticks use sodium stearate to thicken to the point of a solid product. Could anyone recommend any alternative thickening agents?

  Usually w/si thickend by polyethylene wax, microcrystalline wax, ceresin or maybe others.
