  • Substitue for Lanolin in Lipgloss

    What are some substitutes for lanolin for lipgloss? I know of Softisan but are there others? Thank you.

    I’ve heard people using cupuacu butter as an alternative but I wouldn’t expect exact same performance

    There is Plantasens VL by Clariant and SMA has a vegetable alternative to lanolin as well.  I think they are both a little more sticky but it might be worth a try

    in my experience, a combination of malleable microcrystalline wax and sucrose acetate isobutyrate makes a passable substitute

    Chiming in on an old post. But if anyone is listening I’ve been using Pomegranate Sterols instead of lanolin or petrolatum. It takes a little longer to melt and it’s REALLY tacky but I really like the lip feel in the finished product.
