    Hi All,
I am trying to formulate a clear gel below

    glycerin                                   3
    propylene glycol                      2
    Aloe Vera extract                     2
    isopropyl alcohol                      2
    Menthol                                   0.05
    Vitamin E                                  1
    CMC                                         0.5
    Carbomer                                  0.3
    TEA                                           0.3
    PEG-40 hydrogenated castor oil  4
    Phenoxyethanol                         0.5
    fragrance                                   0.1
    water                                         q.s

I tried to incorporate all ingredients first before adding gelling agents. I am struggling to obtain a clear gel for 2 reasons (I did the knockout experiments)
    1. Premixed menthol in isopropyl alcohol caused the turbidity of the solution, I tried to warm solution to 45 and mix well but didn’t work. what happened when menthol+alcohol in water, I think its air but I am not sure? and are there ways that we can incorporate menthol without causing turbidity?
    2. I solubilized Vitamin E in PEG-40 Castor oil before adding to the solution and the solution became turbid. I increased PEG-40 to 8% but didn’t help. Are there any other solubilizer/ emulsifiers that can solubilize Vitamin E?

thank you for sharing your knowledge !
