Hello everyone, I am dealing with a shampoo that was initially too thin. 200lbs of PEG-175 diisostearate was added 10 a 12,800lb batch and then 300lbs of ammonium laureth sulfate was added as well. The shampoo read too thick and so they added water. 2 months later the formula has turned into a silly putty consistency, very thick and will not pour out of the bottle. Can anyone explain?

It’s hard to say but having a listing of the whole formula would help.

    pH drift perhaps. Water evaporation?
