Pumping out thick liquids from 55 gallon drums
Good day to everyone here! I hope you can help me on how to pump thick liquids out of 55 gallon drums. The chemicals that I will be pumping are CDEA, and Labsa. I have tried using the pump below, but we are having difficulties to pump viscous liquid out of drum. I have also attached the picture of the drum as reference. Mind helping me for those experienced in the field?

We have been down this path. The pump you have pictured is totally useless, as we found out. We purchased a metal pump that fitted into the tank lid. You need to check that the pump extends to the base of the tank. With viscous liquids there are a lot of forces in play, so this is why you need a solid metal pump that fits into the lid.

Does the metal rust when you pump labsa or CDEA?

Not in our experience if the pump is made using high-quality metal.
