    Hello,
I am starting to formulate my first creams and am kind of neebie, here.
Have been studying about HLB and I already understood how it works.
But I have this question: If this protelan ENS is a self-emulsifying wax and a blend of Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Stearic Acid and Sodium Lauroyl Glutamate, will it work no matter the HLB you need for the oil phase? How do I know whats the HLB of this emulsifier to match my HLB of the oily phase? I have been seaching the percentage of each of this blend ingredients (so I could calculate its HLB) but no success.
    Thank you for your knowledge!

Have you checked the technical documents for your EWax blend? Often times technical documents will tell you HLB if applicable and how much to use.
For example, Montanov 68 doesn’t use HLB because it’s based on “liquid crystal” emulsifying concepts, and the use rate is between 0.5% and 3% for an oil phase that takes up to 60% of the total formula.  This information was found on UL Prospector in one of the technical document links. If you don’t have these documents get in contact with your supplier.
