  • Pigmented, film-forming, water-repellent ‘cream’?

    Hey again all,
Hope everyone is well and safe. Following a discussion with Perry regarding hair heat-treatments, my curiosities have blossomed! I’ve been looking more into film-forming ingredients, specifically those which are water- and sebum-repellent, whilst also being able to incorporate a high pigment loading, oh and possibly retain water (though film-forming alludes to that, right?), that dries quickly on skin and with low shine…
Goodness, I don’t ask for much do I!
Would silicone acrylates do the job (a la DOWSIL Silicone acrylates series)? How ‘simple’ would it be to have a thickened emulsion of this with some proportion of water and additional silicones (I’m thinking a little bit of dimethicone for glide and feel, perhaps)?

Thanks in advance, as always, all!

You know what, I think you’re probably right. I think the water repellence I’d be looking for is a little more than typical foundations but it’s a good basis to start with… a good ‘foundation’ if you will*

    *I’ll get my coat.

Try avalure flex 6 from lubrizol.  I’ve formulated bb/cc creams and mineral based suncreens with it
