GMP training
Posted by AutumnBlum on October 8, 2019 at 8:34 pmDoes anyone recommend a cGMP online training program? Most that I find want to custom tailor, or travel to your site. I’d like to find a good online program that I can put new staff through - and perhaps my existing staff as well!
Thanks for any recommendations or thoughts!

@AutumnBlum - we don’t have such a course but if we were to make one, what are some of the key subjects you would like to learn about?

It’s not a bad idea to put together a course of cGMP and perhaps cGLP too - or at least cover the basics from traceability, record keeping, plant design/layout (something I’m working on now), references (BP/USP if required), raw material records (QC/QA, spec sheets, MSDS, C of As, etc) finished product specifications, SOP writing etc. Perhaps covering HACCP, ISO, or other programs)
When you work with it, you learn it as you go and it is easy - when you are starting out, it seems insurmountable putting a program together. -
We operate under the ASEAN Cosmetics Guidelines, and they have put together a series of modules. Our staff have a monthly working lunch woking through these. Als, it is a component of our GMP inspections, and the GMP inspectors want to see documented proof of staff progress in GMP training.

If you’re interested, I think these are the modules that @mikethair is referring to. ASEAN Cosmetics Guidelines

Thank you so much for the advice.
Perry, I would love to see a series of modules that we could use to train new staff as well as improve/refresh existing staff.
Right now, I am the only one in our small facility that can really do the trainings and I am traveling too much these days. Having an online program with questions and a printable quiz to add to employee files would be great. Knowing that attention span is limited, lunch break size modules would be ideal.
- Basic cGMPs for cosmetic and OTC manufacturing overview for new hires
- Good documentation practices
- Handling adverse events and/vs consumer complaints
- etcI’ll check out the ASEAN link recommended by Dr. Mike as well.
Off to figure out how to turn on notifications so I don’t miss future ones :-
