Is this happening to one of your formulas? If so:

What are your ingredients and phases?
    What is your method?

Then I can see what you might be missing in your formula and help from there.

      Here’s the formula:

      Aquadest

      Glycerin

      Chlorpenesin

      Cetyl Alc

      Glyceryl monostearate

      Glycol cetearath

      Span 80

      Plurol oleique

      IPM

      Mineral Oil

      ZnO

Can you help me what is wrong with my formula?

      Thanks a lot

I’ve done accelerated stability test (at 60 celcius), and my cream experienced a phase change after 3 weeks…

3 weeks at 60C? This is excessive - relevance to real life long term aging is highly doubtful.

60C is too hot, most stability tests are done at 40C

It’s about my R&D SOP in my company & i always use that temperature for acccelerated test, for other product too

But geepee, can you tell me whats wrong on my formula? am i using too much w/o emulgator?

Previous, i once used mgso4 for stabilizer at water phase but the result was same, stable on 3 weeks only.

3 weeks at 60C is BS. If that’s the only condition that causes the issue - then you have no issue. T

Some officious clown in your company has you guys wasting your time and energy for no benefit.

Hi. Could you write the proper INCI for Glycol cetearath? Also, it’ be nice to know at least how much of this and of Span 80 you’re using, as well as the amount of your oil phase and some details about your manufacturing process.

I used Emplilan EGMS with the INCI is Glycol cetearath.

      Here’s:

      Cetyl OH 2%

      Gms 4%

      Glycol cete 1%

      Span 80 2%

      Plurol 3%

Do i use too much emulgator??

My formula is about 75% water phase & 25% oil phase.

And i add the water phase to oil phase ad 70 C…

Since it’s a w/o emulsion, are you adding the water phase very very slowly? Also, w/o emulsions require some inorganic salts for stabilization.

Yes, i am adding the water phase to oil phase slowly (drops by drops using pipet) and i used mgs04 as electrolyte stabilizer in water phase
