Hi Juhira,
Kojic Acid Dipalmitate is an oil soluble material. Thus, you need to add it into your oil phase. This might be the reason of crystallization.

Hi. Yes, hec cannot make clear gels. You may opt to use Sepimax Zen, it is a good polymer, and produces clear gel.

Thanks for your response. Our supplier recommended to add the Dermosoft 1388 in the water phase prior adding other ingredients. But still, I experience crystallization but not as big as the previous crystals. Any other options?

Hi @h_w , have you tried using Peg-120 Methyl Glucose Diolate? It might help your formula to be thicker.

As for the challenge test, we also seek for assitance from our suppliers. Some of them are free of charge, some are not.

@Perry my apologies for wrong info. Glycerin can be partially or totally replaced by Betaine as it has the same moisturizing effect, based on the study made by DuPont. Pros of betaine is it isn’t tacky/sticky.

Thanks. I am learning more and more about betaine, I didn’t realize it was so popular. Do you find betaine to provide superior moisture over, say, glycerin? I’m thinking about if I had to make a serum with only 3 humectants and water, do you think betaine would be good enough to be chosen for 1 of those 3?
Hi. Yes, it is better than glycerin. Plus, it isn’t tacky on the skin. You can use it at its maximum dosage 5%.

Hi. What is your product, is it toner or cream? Malic is soluble in water. Salicylic is soluble in ethanol and oils. To adjust pH, you may opt to use sodium hydroxide soln.

Hi. When using Dermosoft 1388 eco, final pH of the product should be 4.50 - 5.00. What is your pH?
