Sorry I’ve been away. I think i’ll try two methods. One with the surfactant blend. I searched for LABSA like @Chemist77 suggested but I couldn’t find so I’ll try a second method using SLS and CAPB. I have other ingredients like glycerin and EDTA. I’ll give updates when I’m done.

Thanks guys.
@Belassi why so?
@Chemist77 @Perry I’ll have to get another preservative. Not sure DMDM Hydantoin is available locally here. I’m trying to avoid the use of parabens but that’s what is popular around here.

MemberSeptember 20, 2018 at 3:14 pm in reply to: Looking for manufacturers of shampoo based blendsI contacted BASF but I was told that Plantaren APB is not available in their Europe portfolio (which Africa operates Under) only in their North America portfolio. They suggested Plantacare k 55 which contains Lauryl Glucoside and CAPB only.
@Belassi would I need another surfactant with this Plantacare k 55?

Hi @Belassi I found your old discussion through a Google search of Plantaren APB. I’d like to ask if you used a cold or hot process for your formulation. Thanks.

@Belassi what other ingredients do you add to Plantaren APB?
@Chemist77 @ngarayeva001 I live in Nigeria
@Microformulation can I have the company website? -
Wow. Clearly I have a lot to learn.

@Perry @DAS Thanks for the link. I did a little research online, the chemicals sellers here are not familiar with some of the chemicals I read up. It doesn’t help.

@Belassi I found out most shampoo manufacturers here use Antisol, Nitrosol and HEC. That’s what’s known/available around here and the Citric acid is used to lower the PH.

@DRBOB@VERDIENT.BIZ thank you. I’ll try it out.

Hi everyone.
My name is Teejay and I’m from Nigeria. I discovered this forum a few months ago when I became interested in manufacturing hair shampoos.
I don’t have much knowledge about cosmetics and formulation. I’m interested in learning how I can improve my formulation and also sharing with you my experience in the last few months.
