Just a warning, if you etch the glass on the beaker, do not use it to heat anything after, it may shatter or “explode”.

Phenoxyethanol should be translucent with a light floral/rose scent. It has a freezing point of 14 degrees C. I have never seen it separate, or become green, and quite often find it frozen when shipped during winter months. It should have been frozen solid in your fridge. I would throw it out.

Another concern lies in that these test for endotoxins, and not all bacteria that may cause issues produce endotoxins. You can have relatively benign bacteria that preclude release due to high colony counts. Having no endotoxins does not make it “clean” or safe for use.
