What I seem to be seeing people do is mix in 55 gallon drums. And then my question is that a secondary mix after emulsion? Or is that the emulsion mix, and they are pouring both phases into the drum and mixing?
I can purchase a heated tank with a mixer, but how do I ensure the mixer will homogenize?

Euxyl l 9010 is a broad-spectrum preservative that is effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, no?

I have a Wagner (the vevor blender only lasted a few months, but they did refund me when it broke) immersion blender and it works great. But now I’m trying to mix larger 10 gallon batches. I’m also having a problem emulsifing the above formula with an immersion blender or a power drill with attachment. It’s not emulsifying in 10 gallon batches. When I mix 5 gallons it works.
So I’m seeking advice on what’s a good mixer for body butters or if they think it’s my formula, or my temps, or how I’m pouring them. I’ve been mixing at 180 -170 F. Will mixing too hot break emulsions?
Do people on here use immersion blenders for 10 gallon batches?
Does anyone use a paint mixer and power drill?

Hi @KMRCSMiami , thanks for replying!
I’m making lotions with various viscosities. Some light lotions and some thicker creams. I’m in Nevada. My budget is probably up to around $5k - $10k.
I’m looking at maybe getting 2 big melting/heat tanks and finding a mixer for one of them, but then I’m trying to wrap my head around how I transfer the thicker lotions out of the tank, as I’m not sure gravity will be sufficent. Also, I’m not sure what kind of mixer I should get.

Definitely not the right material. They’ll honor a refund. They are just confused. Have you used this silca @chemicalmatt ? It’s so prone to being airborne that it makes it difficult to mix and keep the lab free of floating particulates. I wear a respirator, but it basically contaminates the whole work area.
