Ok, but what if i want to keep stearic acid in lotion ? Someone in past (1year ago) said stearic acid in creams that is not saponified it is useless, any truth in that ? Thats why i am willing to saponif. it. I know i can leave stearic acid and just add cetyl alcohol a bit more or mayby combo with ceteary alcohol will work nice, but want to make “milk lotion” felling. Light and effective.

With formula other things like perservative , fragance , extracts ety are not important, since i am playing with viscosity/ph with base first.
Millia, bit more stearic acid (from 0.8 to 2%?) but do i sap. it or leave it un saponificated ? And regards beeswax, any reason to drop it out , or ? Thank you for help
    Regards

Ok so looks like i have problem, like belassi said yea will break down when i add citric acid. But i toke mostly formulation from Perry (curse) and (replace some oils with natural) but there it say 5.00 - 5.5 ph and he have water phase and also seperate 5%  Thickener Carbomer (2%). So if totally is 100g, than that mean it is 5g of “gel” with 2% carbomer? 4,9g water and 0.1g carbomer ?

    can post formulation if need

This isnt soap, this is body lotion, where you have water, oil phase and gel-carbomer. As nice thickener you saponificate totally stearic acid in emmulsion. I think just ph is  a bit high.

Sap stearic acid it means, saponification of stearic acid. I use to make gel  CARBOPOL ULTREZ 30.

I have KOH inside, 1st i use koh to get gell from carbomer and when i combine oil and water phase , i add 10% solution to sap stearic acid. So i would say , adding citric acid will work ?

I do produce hydrosols and i do filtrate them. Till now i didnt preserv them, only stored in dark cold place. Must say, i had it over 1 year and wasnt any sign of contamination (not in appearance and not in odor). This year i will preserv it, i destill it 2 weeks ago and i need now to filtrate 1000l of lavender hydrosol.

Reaction looks like it makes with preservative and any EO, i mixed surfactants and add EO, was ok. As soon as i add perservative it breaks a bit and makes milky look. Or if i add perservative first is ok, than if i add EO it colleps abit and makes again milky mix. I have no knowledge for this. So probably will go another formulation. I did change Sodium Cocoamphoacetate with Betain in different formulation and shampoo is so clear, nice looking.

I think i solved the problem with EO. Before I add citric acid in water before surfactants were even in water and thats why it made me problem. Now i add citric acid  on end when water and surfactants are mixed and looks like it is working. But still i lose some viscosity when i add Phenoxyethanol & Ethylhexylglycerin.

Looks like Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate reacts with essential oils. But can be replaced by Betain, to keep cleaning ability ets the same ?

Hey, i dont use any salt. I tried to replace sodium cocoyl glutamate with betain and when i add EO it didnt break. How can this be? What do you say about replacing SCG with Betain , it is 1.6%-2% active in surfactant. Ph on end it has 5 - 5.5

    Hello all,

thank you for answers to all. I couldnt reach internet those days therefore i couldnt answer you. Like Itsallinmyhands  said, i was trying to make detergent to than mix it in shampoo. And have really problems with it. Even putting in formula you posted isnt going right. Powder is consider to be 100% right ? so 5% it means 5g of that formula u posted MakingSkincare ?

Itsal: yes, 1st when i mix it with hot water it mix ok but there is lots of small bubles on top that covers the top of liquid. When it colls down it it like clay paste/white paste. I didnt try leave it more than 1-2 days, but can also try that ti se if will clear but i really doubt it.

Thank you all for giving me advices

I saw the formula, but i would like to learn how to actually make 32% active in liquid form. I tried 3.2g DLSS powder and 6.8g water, it become just white paste. So i really have no idea if it works like this .

sample of product of 32% active : http://www.makingcosmetics.com/Sulfosuccinate_p_279.html

Hey, thank you for link. I see the point and thank you again for that. But how would you make with powder 32% active surfacant ? Just for dlss. To disolve in water i find it quite a big problem, since when it cool down it get almost solid paste.

I did read that but there is no information at all for powder DLSS and how to work with it. I know really well that blog, but like i said. On internet (i couldnt find) is no info how to work with powder at all. And i have no experience with it also. On blog it is writen 32% active , that mean 32g of powder to 100g of water, but it will be just white paste -almost solid when will cool down. Really will be pleased for any info with DLS. Lets say if i make shampoo with DLSS as primary surfactant (powder) and betaine, how would i mix powder in to get 27%-32% active and not white paste?

    Thank you again
