@Mike, I am not sure I get what you are saying!
It is unfair for someone to ask for a complete formula for a product ( I am not sure this happens however, I can be oblivious at times!) however, don’t change the way this forum operates, it seems to work just fine as it is. In fact, I think it is a great place for people to connect and work together and do business. -
Hahahah, that is what I thought lol

You guys are such perfectionist!
It has actually been listed like that (can you believe?) also, it is a curl cream that is being retailed at £45.Bill, thank you…took your advice and submitted the form. Will keep you posted how it goes. -
Yes, but anything special about the ingredient list?
-
I was going to suggest Shopify but I can see you have already thought about it, I would perhaps look at independent web designers, I would look at sites such as Gumtree (not sure if there is something similar where you are) also look at fresh college graduates who are always up for a challenge and a little original and cheap.

I think for me the whole point is to come up with something better than what is already available hence the need to develop/formulate new improved product. Apparently in the UK according to Mintel, Afro-Caribbean women spend 6 times on hair products than their counterpart and yet ethnic hair care products account for a average of only 1.7% of launches between 2007-2012. Innovation is lacking I think… -

MemberFebruary 15, 2014 at 3:15 pm in reply to: How much does it cost to launch a product? from formulation to packaging, marketing?BTW, one of the companies is estimating £20-30,000 costs for one product from beginning to end, this excludes the marketing and branding of course. That’s why I am rather perplexed as to why the initial costs for formulation and testing are so low only to increase significantly.

Yes, Bob I agree, I would rather work with an independent consultant to formulate the products and then get them made by big manufacturers. Anyone interested!I am looking for someone with experience in this market, to be fair there is not my R&D in the Ethnic hair care market in the UK -

MemberFebruary 15, 2014 at 9:26 am in reply to: How much does it cost to launch a product? from formulation to packaging, marketing? However, the catch is, wait for it…the own the formulation unless they manufacture the product and if I want another company to do it, I have to pay £ 2,500 for owning the formulation. MOG is 10,000
Another company has quoted £1,800 and I won the formulas outright. I am looking to develop products for the ethnic hair care market anyone with better ideas please get in touch! -

Interesting points you raised, just wondering which shampoos with gentle surfactants have users found more drying?, if not name, what sort of formulation would it have? -

Yes I agree however, there seems to a general consensus among most natural haired women who believe silicone based products are harmful to their hair however none can back it up with research? -

Thank you loads… -
Thank you Chemicalmatt,
I prefer the natural oils, for some reason avocado has reacted better than coconut, olive oil and even jojoba! I am still researching other alternatives.Thank you! -
Thanks Microformulation,
I will start searching for him -
Hi Kitty,
No, I don’t do skincare just hair. -
I think like any entry level jobs, you need to persevere and email individuals in companies and persuade then to offer you work experience/ internship. I think you need to find their names and email then individually. Hope this helps.
