Shin Etsu’s SPD-Z5 is the most transparent Zinc dispersion I’ve tried in my lab. All those you’ve shared above I have tried (and more) and the one from Shin Etsu is by far the best. The skin feel is also amazing. Be prepared however for its exorbitant price…

Another transparent one I’ve tried is from Daito Kasei’s Daitopersion ZN-50. It’s a tiny bit less transparent than the Shin Etsu one, but the price is much much lower.

As you can see there’s a trend here.. I guess the Japanese excels in this field. Hope it helps.

Try pre dispersing your pigments with a silicone fluid and passing them through a three-roll mill. I would also suggest to homogenize the pre dispersion with your Silicone/Elastomer + Emulsifier Phase till optimum smoothness is achieved.

Also in my opinion, the PE-9010 preservative blend would be better added to your water phase as this is a W/Si preparation.

Hello Robert! I highly appreciate your feedback, and yes I would agree with you if I’m asking for duplications of current shades that are in the market. Maybe my phrasing was terrible (sorry for bad English - it’s my 3rd language).

But what I was referring to, is a color spectrum chart and the possible pigment considerations for each color family (Peaches, Pinks, Mauves, Nudes, and etc). And from that sort of root color family, I’d be able to tweak the combinations to create my the exact shade I want.

Anyways, since the post date of my query, I’ve found a good resource material crossing Pantone’s Color IQ with data from pigment suppliers I gathered.

    Thank you very much!

According to Elementis (the leading distributor of Meadowfoam Oil in the World), the reason that it’s much more resistant to rancidity and oxidation is its inherent antioxidants content and most importantly, the unsaturated double bonds on the fatty acids are located at
the Δ5 and Δ13 position. The lack of conjugated double bonds and natural antioxidants delivers oxidative stability, thus making it resistant to heat breakdown and oxidation.

I agree and fully understand that “Sky is the Limit” budget really doesn’t exist, specially with my experience in reducing product costs and developing processes to increase manufacturing efficiency as my daily grind.

That is why this particular query is more of a fun way to bring out our imagination, creativity, and knowledge of ingredients SHOULD a client ask us for a product using only the best raw materials in the industry.

By the way, this line: “I am very surprised that, with all your experience, you still consider that manufacturers are some kind of benevolent uncle” is unnecessary.
