I have salicylic acid in house in powder form. Any suggestions on the solvent i can use to dissolve it without altering the viscosity of the body wash?
In the end, these invalid claims will affect you client and limit their growth. We won’t touch a product unless it clears Regulatory.

Any suggestions?Don’t make any acne claims at all anywhere in your marketing or product descriptions at all.It is pricey, but we use Salspheres from Salvona.

Affecting the final skin feel can be addressed through other measures such as rapid spreading emollients for example.

I found their formulation tips to be unhelpful as I did exactly as instructed with no success. Thank you for providing the sample formulation.I have used the product numerous times and have had no difficulty getting a homogeneous product with an overhead stirrer. (IKA Eurostar Digital).

Curoxyl 42 has an INCI name of Water and Benzoyl Peroxide. There is a very good guiding document available for download here; https://www.ulprospector.com/en/na/PersonalCare/Detail/705/217985/Curoxyl-42?st=1Off-hand and from experience, you will likely need a better emulsification system.

Glycerin is not an emulsifier.
Glycerin is water-soluble.
Thank you, as I mention it this product confuses me because I use butter and carrier oils with glycerin and it dissolves beautifully.
Could this be because I do cold produce?I would wager that if you did stability in a formal manner, you would see the glycerin separate out over time. -

Baking soda is never used. There are much better ways to adjust pH. I would seek greater understanding. In addition “Baking Soda” (NaHCO₃) will RAISE you pH, not lower it.

MarkBroussard said:This is a cool concept, but in my experience, is not suitable for a commercial product. The process to form the gel is tedious and it does not work with all carrier oils … works better with saturated oils, not so goog with unsaturated oils. Generally, the gels are not heat stable. Next.
That has been my experience in scaling up these Formulas. They are difficult to perform on the manufacturing floor. Most Contract Manufacturers I know avoid this raw material.

I have made several. Essentially you are looking at a good gentle base with the addition of several botanicals for anecdotal “claims.”

Any push back I have seen was from distributors who felt it wasn’t natural. That is based on 100’s of Formulas with PE9010.

You should add about 25 drops of your favorite essential oil to 2 tablespoons of baking soda and stir to combine. Lemon and lavender are excellent choices, but eucalyptus is my favorite because of the refreshing scent. Pour the baking soda and essential oil mix into the water and stir. Then funnel the water into your spray bottle. Seal tightly and give the bottle a good shake to combine ingredients thoroughly. This works wonders, I swear! I use it as a smoke odor eliminator car. That “recipe” needs some technical work before you could even consider it a Formula. There are so many issues.
