Thanks.

MemberSeptember 29, 2018 at 5:55 pm in reply to: Would L’ascorbic acid dissolve in glycerin?Hmmmn! There was a report I read where it says it can dissolve in glycerin which is heated… So I had to throw the question to the house

Thanks guys!

@Perry @ngarayeva001 @Microformulation what do you guys think… Thinking of making an anhydrous vitamin c serum and want to find a way to incorporate HA and if possible, extracts, infused in glycerin using double boiler and when cooled down, dissolve the LAA and HA in it, ferulic then how do I go about the emulsifying phase using vitamin e oil ? Since I can’t re-heat the dissolved ascorbic acid with the HA(assuming and hoping it dissolves in glycerin) I’m worried it will destroy the acid and HA. The aim of the serum is for brightening hyperpigmentation, tackle wrinkles, dark spots and even complexion

Sorry to deviate a bit from the question but does HA dissolve and turn to gel in glycerin? Also LAA?
-
Well @ngarayeva001 mine had allatoin and niacinamide dissolved in hot water and I added the HA when cooled and germall plus
-
@ngarayeva001 I can’t tell what type of HA I have but once added to water, it floats on water and has a slimy feel and after some hours, turns to gel but like a droopy gel but after like 3 days or so, turns back to water even after I added preservatives, is this ok? Plus I think it’s kind of over hyped , it certainly doesn’t carries over 1000 times its weight in water.

I get you @ngarayeva001 I formulate soaps using black soap for skin glowing and acne clearing and it works with actual rave reviews from real people on my skincare group so I want to progress to serums, other kinds of soaps, creams etc and I just want to beat my own past records and… I don’t know.. .So far it has been depressing, no formulations I’ve given seem to work according to you all with some rich chemistry background and whilst I understand practice making perfect, it’s best to learn from others with experience and thus take calculated risks, I’m just so dampened and sad, people are counting on me.

Not even goji berry liquid?
-
@Perry to brighten the skin, improve and clear hyper pigmentation, boost skin smoothness and make it look even tone.
-
@Perry but the Cosrx has rave reviews on their page, so what can I add to these to boost its efficacy? I’m thinking ferulic acid and vitamin e oil but how to go about adding oil to these using emulsifier is kind of daunting
-
@Microformulation so kojic dip plus alpha arbutin for western African skin should be effective yeah?
