@aliciacintora
It is difficult to answer your question
i just learn formulating the cream / lotion by myself for fun. But, I do have strong background on chemistry. It helps me learning fast. For example, lotion or cream is emulsion process to merge oil and water together and pH on final product to make sure in the range of pH of skin.On other side I do have background on herbs and skin structure and aging process. Those help to learn quickly.
The hlb system is also helpful to select emulsifiers and oils.., -

Grease fall concept that I tried and it works well. You choose the oils that you want on the cream. Then you choose different oils with different density.

I thought it good to use both xanthan gum + carbomer (acrylic poly). Xanthan Gum works well with carbomer based on article.

MemberSeptember 27, 2018 at 1:10 pm in reply to: What factors improve the lotion/cream stability?I agreed that emulsion processes are trial and errors. Therefore, I create this topic in order to improve our knowledge
1) main emulsifier + co-emulsifier, thickener, anti-bacteria oil, preserve
2) mechanical processes: high speed stirring,
3) airless container -
