Surfactant micelles cause increased concentration of the ionic moiety (undissociated active) of the SB in the water/phase which can, depending upon the type and concentration of the SAA alter the PKa. The value of the latter has to be determined by experiment

No but it has nothing to do with mixed micelle formation.Foam density/quality has to do with film formation at the oil/water interface.

@ graillotion MARKETING Brochures are meant to be dazzling (tocopheryl phosphate is just outside 500 Dalton Rule at mw 555 which is a guide and not absolute ;actually T2P penetrates also as per Franz Cell work.Read patent literature as per Phosphagenics (now Avecho Biotechnology) TPM (TP and T2P) technology is also a penetration enhancer. Research which I co-led established the Company Try it one one of your difficult compounds.

VE acetate does not penetrate stratum corneum as per Franz Cell tests so not even worth chasing clinical or some bogus claimVE phosphate by comparison penetrates epidermis/dermis and is a potent anti inflammatory.(ASHLAND)

Agree- Started in 1958 after leaving Military in 1957 (US ARMY Germany 1955-1957) as lab technician for Lever Bros: had 2 years college prior to Military.As technician learned hands on formulation while attending classes at night.Upon receipt of degree Title changed to Research Chemist .Later at JNJ became manager of New WW product Development guiding formulation. So I would say I did both until retiring from JNJ in 1995 when I Founded consulting company in Personal Care (still doing both).

Agree 1%. Lot of experience with this one.HAS to be pre—dissolved in surfactants alkyl/alkylether sulfates and addition is tricky so you should talk with Clariant before using.

You need blend with HLB of 10.5:try CreamMaker fluid from Making Cosmetics HLB 11.Believe you can add directly to oil phase-level ?? maybe 3% or higher

You could save time and cost by doing a knockout starting with Stevia

Used ethyl ester as skin penetration enhancer:lauroyl hydrophobe may increase efficacy for that application but would need to do Franz cell to verify.No exp.on preservation but cationic salt may work similar to BAC as suggested:mic not worth much.Maybe suppliers should use AOAC use dilution for kill times on specific organisms??

Most if not all goes down the drain so lower it as necessary if indeed it it is the culprit.Do a knockout to verify

On the other end of the spectrum,while developing Johnson’s Baby Products in the seventies I/we had to balance preservation with minimal eye irritation/sting using pre-clinical and Clinical standards (human oculars).The latter are still the standard for products in the category.

not true Have passed many Otc challenge tests which include gram negative organisms.K sorbate is known to yellow at low PH as it exists as sorbic aid-eventualy goes dark brown-poor choice
