Daniel have a look at some of the DIY sites like Making Cosmetics or Lotioncrafter, they have formulas and they will have all the ingredients you want. They are both in the US.
Is it for the face or body? the one thing I will say is that you need to be careful with how many grams of Essential Oil you put into your formula.
    For face =  0.2%, body products = 0.5%
The regulations of Essential Oils have changed, it would be beneficial if you looked up the FDA rules for EO’s and also which compounds are considered toxic since they are not pure, they are made up of hundreds of molecules. Be careful of using certain EO’s if you intend on getting pregnant soon as well.
Whereas chemists work in pure compounds.
Its sort of like turning it all upside down. The Organic movement say that Essential Oils are pure as they have come from a tree, but we say that it is really impure and can be loaded with insects and hundreds of compounds. So we purify them as much as we can. Hope that makes sense.
Other than that you have the ingredients there, just have a look at the formulas and after that post it with the concentrations and then we can tell you if have a winner!!
or you can do what Microformulation said, hire a cosmetic chemist.
    Hope this helps!

I thought metric was compulsory now, like animal classification- genus and spp name so everything is constant worldwide?

Yes if you are doing a small project from home, yes you can buy the lotioncrafter test kit. You may also want to read some books on microbiology and cosmetics to give you an idea of how the testing works.
Sodium Benzoate you can use about 3% or less, and Potassium Sorbate its about 0.5% max. Hope this helps.

Looks good @Gunther you should definitely go for something like this.

  • Well said Doreen, lucky you, I sunbaked with pure mineral oil even on my face in the Aussie sun, and plus having scottish skin I really regret that now!
Be proud you really don’t want to end up with skin like mine!

How many are you making? I tried syringes and lotions are too thick, serums might be OK? but without spending a lot of money (if you only need to do 20 at a time) I use bakers piping bags and it works fine. You find a jug or container that you can fill all the tubes with the top open at the top next to each other until it is full and they don’t move. Then you just go to each one filling them. You can even get a cheap pack of disposable piping bags and a tiny pointy funnel type thing you put at the end (from the supermarket) and it makes it really easy. Plus the tubes don’t move because they are all next to one another in the container. I hope that makes sense. Have fun!

  • Hey @Microformulation I meant the Leucidal complete with the AMP-cide. That is an interesting project, what was the chelant you used?

I’ll have a go. If it is used in spa’s for beauty therapy maybe it is depilatory body hair wax that has not hardened or has been heated and is still soft.
I use one that looks just like that!
  • Maybe you could also try Leucidal SF as your all natural preservative instead of phenoxyethanol. If you have to use it, I think Euxyl 9010 from Shulke is better. It contains Phenoxyethanol & Ethylhexylglycerin and as Ozgirl said 1% is the preferred amount.

It did go through 5 cycles of freeze/thaw/heat? do you still think the stability will still change?

  • Ahh you are on the ball tonight, it’s late here & I just had a glance. Phenoxyethanol isn’t natural either but it was semi natural Ha

If you need to reduce particle size, use a coffee grinder. If you are only using small amounts.

@Belassi  I just made a serum with 0.4% Spirulina powder and it is very stable. I masked the odour with Rose bulgarian in Jojoba, its a pale green and I am loving it!

    I would use Shea Butter..just a preference.

  • This looks like a natural formulation and there are natural silicone replacements like Isoamyl Laurate-naturally derived. Hope this helps. Catherine

You know what? I am just trying to get people talking and really I am talking to the chemists that get loads of free jobs. I am not talking about beginners, I think you all know that. I think that $100 by the chemists is not unreasonable at all. You would pay thousand for an advertising site and as I said this site is usually around 1 or 2 organically on google. And Doreen thank you for being supportive, the amount of ingredients that you buy from the formulas you talk about would add up to that amount easily.
BTW I didn’t say you had to, I was just trying to get a reaction to start talking. Perry might like to hear your stories and how this site has personally helped them.
You have totally not understood what I was trying to do?? thanks for doing that! its just stupid!!
