Then Dr. Bob has suggested you the best solution, I have used it with our customers and the gel is really transparent. Try to use octyldodecanol as the main oil, strongly recommended.

Try one of the Polyox powders, maybe Polyox WSR 201 at around 0.05-0.10% and see if gives a desired slip.

Ethocel STD 100 Premium or there are few from Ajinomoto, all these tho cost fortunes in the formulations.

How about a betaine or amine oxide, pretty common in dish wash liquids. Omit the amide altogether.

@johnb nabil talks with the local perception of MENA region and trust me in 99% cases it’s about the cost. Using LABSA ain’t no big deal here and that’s why local brands compete strongly with the biggies. I have worked with LABSA and once you know how to do it properly there is no parallel to it IMHO. Since the pre neutralized sodium salt is a bit more expensive the acid and alkali are the choice of many.
But I totally agree with you on safety and handling issues, no argument on that whatsoever.

@EliseCortes Looking at the price I felt a wrinkle on my face is 1200 times better than those in my pocket  :)

@johnb by resin I meant acrylic polymers and likewise, didn’t want to mislead.

This is what I found with a little help from Google, surely this could lead you to your answers if more search/research is added.

Then I think Bob has given you a very kind suggestion.

Check with the supplier who provided you with these ingredients or how about some googling.

And there are certain humectants which can be added to counter the drying and plasticizing the resin in the formulation. In premium segments, Ucon Fluid 75-H-450 is one of my favorites.

@Belassi Thank you for sharing such gems every now and then, helps bring in new thought process for people like me slogging in labs.

No problem @Bobzchemist, just how the customer requested. But I have explained him exactly what you are trying to imply here that the performance would largely be unaffected.
Thanks @DRBOB@VERDIENT.BIZ, went a bit over the top that abbreviated term for me.

Thank you for your observation, will definitely give it a try though I have had success with Anti foam emulsion at a very low level.
Just a thing though, what do you refer to when you mention SAA? Acrylic acid?

I have tried lowering the pH but with this polymer system the pH is adjusted between 7.5-8.0 for clarity or else haze persists.
Yeah I have tried IPA but seems need to go higher to improve it, will update soon.

Sodium chloride will give you a cheap product; LABSA, sodium hydroxide, a foam booster like cocamidopropylamine oxide, fragrance, glutaraldehyde as preservative and you are good to go. Dont forget SLES though, the king of good times. Now these few chosen ones can be played around to adjust your formula between 30/40 cents to as high as you want.

U can’t compare apple with oranges @nabil, salt is almost free literally. Read sodium chloride here.

@johnb I wish that avenue was open to me, the product is intended for market where ethanol (even denatured) would be a big no in the LOI.

Why increase the cost of the formula when you can achieve it with salt itself but @nabil start a new thread as it is almost 3 years old.

SLES, SLS will leave residue on the surface, mind it. APG would be a better choice with some solvents to aid the formula.

@Belassi Fingers crossed for edible shampoo with the option of bear, coffee, coconut milk, pasta, chow mein, tacos, etc. :)
On a serious note, think it’s quite innovative and much more sensible than the SNAKE OIL in hair products  :)
    All the best.

@johnb There are chemists here who have good formulae and sell in containers of such products, we are just trying to help without crossing that line where it becomes free professional service.
