@Bill_Toge just curious if the presence of chlorhexidine gluconate will eliminate the need of a preservative in a formulation?? Referring to sans milk formulas like a regular hand wash.

We tried Koel very long back but tbh they were no match against Sun Chemicals (not sure if they still retain the same name) & LCW.
-
Check with Neelikon, they are also India based.

While rereading your question I just realized that you are trying to defy chemistry. Once you neutralize it is going to be thick, end of.

@Duncan while I completely agree with you, the problem of APGs is too many ‘ifs & buts’. We promote Ecosense range but generally avoid it in DWLs, and as you said LABSA is the way to go.
-
What is the order of addition, that much shouldn’t make it thick as it is almost a regularly used dosage.

Among all of this discussion I have to state that my final formula was all good, but there is something I feel is missing when the product is applied. The first feel of the body of the product and that foam profile no matter how high foaming the product is. Is it just me or there is actually no comparison with the regular formulations.
-
Can you please note down your complete procedure here, will be much better in making any suggestions/recommendations. Also please list diwn your formula in % and not in grams.
-
Check NP9 replacements from Dow Chemicals.
-
A hydrotrope might come in handy but that will affect the foam profile. It could be a glycol or Na Cumene Sulfonate or Xylene Sulfonate, try if these work and you end up happy with the foam quality.
-
Did you try to increase the copolymer as certain ones are associative, 0.8% is just too low to observe any thickening. Or you can follow any of the above suggestions.
-
Eventually you need to decide the final pH and that is the final step. I have seen few with as low as 5.5 going upto 8.5 and if I am using LABSA I would prefer pH on higher side. Add an amine oxide, I wouldn’t mind a small throw in of SLES as well. I do that in mine and my benchmark is Fairy.

@”DRBOB@VERDIENT.BIZ” I think we had a discussion about it and we almost spelled complete formula.
@ryanou please look up for that discussion here. -
@”DRBOB@VERDIENT.BIZ” thank you, makes easier to understand. As you said i have seen 96% all this time and that’s about it.
-
@”DRBOB@VERDIENT.BIZ” can you elaborate the last sentence please, is it about the source of ABS origin. Will be great to hear from you.
@Chemist_Ahmed is it the LABSA that you are using with 96% purity?? -
Quote those people here, don’t go by hearsay.

Active matter in such cases refer to the active surfactant matter, now you decide.

If OK, then a very little glycerin or any normal glycol with a solubilizer should give you some milky appearance.
