Do I need a high shear mixer to disperse pigments? To dissolve the color and solvents that you have, u can try in a conventional way by pulverized it in mortar until completely dissolves or with a roll mill tool.

Am I able to dispersed pigments in some isododecane? I do not recommend to dissolve the color with isododecane, where isododecane in your formula though as solvent, but it works also to give matte result after applied on lips.

You should first dissolve the pigment you have with some solvent (for good result, u can try with ester with have function as dispersant) do it with a ratio of 50:50 or 60:40 or you can try it for yourself for good results. For a thin color problem, what percentage of pre-dispersed colors do you use in the formulas that you have? u can try with a 35% color percentage and 65% for base.

Hi, bro! Today, I do a test run on my production line where the size tank I’ve used is 400kg with a 200kg bulk estimate quantity. I do a bulk heating at 45-50°C with stirring done while 30 minutes interval conducted vacuum process with pressure 40cmHg for 5 minutes. For the result, I will see tomorrow. I hope it will save the bulk I have now. 🙂 Do you all in this forum have any advice maybe?

not all pre dispersed color dissolves well using castor oil. You can use Pentaerytrythil Tetraisostearate, Diisostearyl Malate, Polybutene (and) Ethylhexyl Palmitate or C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate. These materials are good solvent esters to premix the colors you have. For liquidy problems, you can reduce the percentage of Isododecane, change the syntethic wax to White Beeswax, Increase Bentone Gel percentage by about 8-10%.

Hi bro, thanks for your advice, I’ve tried trial in my lab by heating the bulk at 40-45 ° C and centrifuging it with the centrifuge, the result of the trapped solid foam can be separated, my question now is, is it possible in tank on production scale? where the tank that my team is using now is a vacuum tank with a capacity of 1600kg, with its homogenizer system like circulation system. cheers. 🙂

Sodium chloride is for stabilizing agent not for thickener, u can use a carbomer or HEC 0.5%

Hi! Thanks for your advice. Honestly, in my parent formula, i’m using C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate (6%) which is now i used diisostearyl malate (5%) and sorbitan sesquioleate (1%) but there’s still pigment’s which is color paste that still don’t dissolves
