I also read on The Good Scent Co. website than xanthan gum could be used as an emulsifier, but I’m a bit hesitant….any thoughts?

ok great! I’m making a dup of my Argan, Rosehip Oil & Coconut oil serum, (which I usually just shake) I don’t think Sodium Hydroxide would be a good additive. Would something else work? Or would even isopropyl or glycerin even make it miscible? Something….

Speaking  of Allantoin, I came across a lip tint that includes this. The ingredients are

WATER, DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL, 1,2-HEXANEDIOL, CITRIC ACID, SODIUM
CITRATE, ALCOHOL, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, BUTYLENE GLYCOL, FRAGRANCE, PYRUS MALUS
(APPLE) FRUIT EXTRACT, YELLOW 6 (CI 15985), PRUNUS AVIUM (SWEET CHERRY) FRUIT
EXTRACT, RED 27 (CI 45410), PUNICA GRANATUM FRUIT EXTRACT, ALLANTOIN,
DIPOTASSIUM GLYCYRRHIZATE, HONEY EXTRACT, PHENOXYETHANOL, SODIUM HYALURONATE,
    ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERI

I was going to forgo the fruit extracts for some other kind of flavoring and two products I already have already have basically all the ingredients….do you think I need the Allantoin in my own version?

I think it was meant to prevent chapping because it also contains (I’m assuming) a decent amount of Retinol; however, at also says it contains Vitamin E and Soybean oil; I’m assuming b/c Allantoin is listed relatively towards the beginning of the list of ingredients that it plays some kind of major role.

I’m also being super impatient, and didn’t want to pay a $3 shipping fee for something that costs about $2. I don’t want to purchase it from a website that will sell it for super-cheap and with a free shipping fee…they’re usually located in China and I’m not sure of their quality standards

True, but I was just wondering if there was something similar that I already had….im being cheap, that’s all. But having said that, I have to order more ingredients so I’ll just add on the Allantoin too.

I was trying to duplicate a face primer I had purchased for a ridiculous amount of money & wanted to if I could make it myself for a little less money
