    Dear Members,

I am currently based in the UK and have several years of experience in the cosmetic chemistry field. I am interested in exploring job opportunities in Europe and would greatly appreciate any advice on how to navigate this transition.

Specifically, I would like to know:

    • The best strategies for finding job openings in the cosmetic chemistry sector across various European countries.
    • The application process for these positions, especially any differences from the UK practices that I should be aware of.
    • Recommendations for recruiters or agencies that specialize in cosmetic chemistry roles in Europe.

Thank you in advance for your assistance and insights.

Excellent, thank you, i will try this and let you know. I was advised by a technician on the shop floor they used to create and aerosol spray and the active ingredient smelled like pear drops…do you think ethyl vinyl acetate and add alcohol, water and frag might work too? Just trying as many options as possible. Directors want quick launch.

What is the activity of the disodium laureth sulfosuccinate? Seems a high %

  • Thank you so much for your feedback. So i’ll remove benzoate and sodium nitrite. How would I make a system solution if wax isn’t emulsified? Do you think nitrosamine would be responsible for discolouration?

Thank you so much for your feedback and thoughts, I am still a novice and value it greatly. Can I ask, or could you point me in the direction of an “ideal” cleanser. Would you say primary and secondary surfactant, humectants, preservatives and thickeners are all that you’d need?

They would make the cleanser part of the formulation less effective how?
The additional ingredients are for skin benefits and claims, do you not think they add anything to the overall formulation?

Pharma, please can I enquire as to why you don’t like them? Again, no right or wrong answer, I’d just appreciate your thoughts. Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. I chose MIT/MCIT due to the irritation potential but I imagine this wouldn’t be an issue in a rinse off product and at such low levels. I also struggled to think of an alternative and came to the conclusion that ethylhexylglycerin and phenoxyethanol could be a good substitute?
I initially thought SLES but there isn’t much data to support this being a harmful ingredient from what I have read so far (happy to be corrected here - novice)
I’ll have a look through your posts.

I don’t believe there is a palm free cetearyl alcohol readily available on the market, unfortunately, only in combination, the best I have found is mass balanced. Emulsense is definitely your best option, try the HC version - lower active, lower cost.
