All soaps are drying. It means no company has been able to make a soap that is less drying. So don’t waste your time on solving that problem.

I made two batches. One without NACL and one with 1.5% NACL but without amodimethicone micro emulsion.
The one with 1.5% NACL but without amodimethicone micro emulsion was stable. But the one without NACL that had amodimethicone micro emulsion precipitated again in one day.
Now that we know the problem is amodimethicone micro emulsion, what should I do about it to prevent it’s precipitation?
Emulsion is: Amodimethicone (and) Trideceth-12, 3000 cps amodimethicone viscosity, <0.1um particle size, 25% silicone.

I like pH of 4 for my emulsions.

Decyl glucoside reduces viscosity

I just shared my experience because i haven’t seen or used any soap in our market that is not drying. Maybe we don’t have good soaps here ☺️

MemberJanuary 30, 2024 at 9:14 am in reply to: What causes precipitation in this shampoo formula? No it doesn’t have Cetrimonium chloride. It is clear as it is micro emulsion. The one with Cetrimonium chloride is opaque and it was creaming to the top. This one is going to the bottom.

Thanks for the comments.
Yes it precipitated again.
I will make another batch without NACL and see what happens.

MemberJanuary 25, 2024 at 8:13 am in reply to: What causes precipitation in this shampoo formula? It has only one percent NACL. I did make another batch with 0.5% NACL and it was the same.
Yesterday i did mix them again with high shear mixer and now that precipitation has gone to the top.
If it is salting, will it only precipitate to the bottom or it can go to the top too?

I think paraben is milder and formaldehyde releaser is more powerful for bacteria. If that is what you also mean.

Any comments about my question?
If it is not suspended, with it cream like dimethicone or precipitate like EGDS?

MemberJuly 17, 2023 at 11:05 pm in reply to: Can we use this modified jessner peel as spot treatment for acneThe peel i have made, 3 women have used it as advised her. Wash the face with face wash, apply the peel one layer, rinse it after 20 minutes, use a moisturizer twice a day.
They used the peel by themselves but i was there to check if something happens and to advise them.
They said it is very tolerable, much more tolerable than bleaching your face as it is very common for women here to bleach their face by themselves.
One man with acne has used it as spot treatment on one of his acne. I don’t know it was papule vs pustule. It was tolerable. His that one acne dried and is about to be removed by it self now after 4 days. We are seeing what will happen.
safety and liability aside, how about effectiveness for acne as spot treatment? Just for my knowledge.

I will try but unfortunately it is difficult to find 95% ethanol here.
