Will you have zinc PCA and sodium sulfate?
Does it also need specific temperature, mixing speed other requirements or by just mixing them this reaction happens?
No, you will have Zn, Na, Sulfate and PCA ions dissociated in the aqueous phase. They’re all water soluble so you just add to water and stir. On your label you will still need to list the ingredients as Sodium PCA and Zinc Sulfate … you could not claim ZnPCA as an ingredient
So will there be any effect that zinc PCA or sodium PCA has?

Yes it is effective.
What is the pH?
At what temperature do you cook Germall plus? It should not be heated above o think 50°c.

Also, high viscosity of decyl glucoside restricts/delays difussion, and the more hydrophobic components of the fragrance would go into decyl glucoside’s micelles. Thanks

as Sil said, what is natural preservative?
I made a lotion with phenoxyethanol and caprylyl Glycol which is like this preservative blend 9:1. I was after some time it was producing gas. Perry said yeast contamination can produce gas so i added 0.1% caprylhydroxamic acid to see what happens and now it doesn’t produce gas. So maybe these products are also contaminated. The don’t have chelating agent and citric acid so the pH may also be high.
For eczema, any product with petrolatum and glycerin as first two ingredients after water is a good product.

I’ve been testing liquid hand soap/body wash formulations and have nailed down a formulation that performs to my liking (with various fragrance oils - it’s thick, clear, foamy, soft). Here is an overview of the formulation:
-SLS (20%)
-SLES (5%)
-Coco Betaine (5%)
-Decyl Glucoside (2%)
-Fragrance (0.5%)
-Sodium Chloride (1.5-2%)
-Chamomile Extract (0.5%)
-Aloe Vera Extract (0.5%)
-Optiphen Plus Preservative (0.5%)
-Water (64%)Here are my questions
1) Water: Do I need to use “deionized” water? I’m currently using distilled. Is this okay?
no2) Chelator: I don’t have a chelator in the formula. Will this cause an issue? I’m debating adding Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate .
no. But it is strongly advised to use chelating agent.
H
3) Fragrance: Is there a trick for knowing what types of fragrance oils perform well in surfactant systems? I find that some oils impact thickness & haziness. The biggest issue I experience is FOs thinning out a formulation.
i have made such product too and cant get enough viscosity,i don’t know how you did. One good way is to remove decyl Glucoside.4) Solubility: What can I do to improve solubility of the fragrance/surfactants? Does heat help to dissolve surfactants?
just mix it. It will work fine.5) Are there any other obvious ingredients I should be adding to help improve the stability/performance?
use chelating agent and a conditioner instead of those extracts. -
What is the function of peg 12 dimethicone in that formula?
If it is as emulsifier the no you cant use dimethicone instead of it.
If it is as conditioner then yes you can use -
What percentage vof SLMI are you using?
You don’t have to dilute your essential oil in carrier oil for shampoo.

EntrepreneurJanuary 9, 2022 at 5:14 am in reply to: Getting a Hydrophilic Powder into an anhydrous systemAre you using milk as claim ingredient and because your company name has milk in it or it has some benefit?
If for claim then you can us 0.00000000001% or lower. That is enough.
If it has a benefit, at what percentage minimum will it have that benefit? Of percentage is high then the only way is to make emulsion.

.
Would you like to take a guess, @Perry , what the dimethicone level would be?
Do you think the polyisobutene….would have a similar result?
Aloha.
1%
No one uses more than 1-2% dimethicone

Use some petroleum

@Perry thanks

What mentioned above+ what type of soil are they washing? This may help to know what you need. Otherwise this formula should work.

PhilGeis said:What’s Germall III?
it was in a patent mixing formaldehyde with allantoin at different ratios. The outcomes were
germall™ 115 which is Imidazolidinyl Urea
Germall II which is Diazolidinyl Urea
And germall III that i couldn’t find the INCI name in Google or in patent itself. -
Maybe everything after water is ≤1%.
I made a sample lotion with 5% petrolatum in oi phase, 1% Polyglyceryl 6 distearate as emulsifier and 0.3% xanthan gum as stabilizer12 months ago and it is stable yet.
Below 1% you can write the ingredients in whatever order you want.
@Perry is says aloe Leaf Juice. Is it possible that they are using higher than water amount of juice?
Also is it ok of we use 0.5% 100:1extrat of aloe Vera at in such formula, we write aloe Vera juice as first ingredient because it equals to 50% juice?

I mixed 5% and 10% solutions by mass of lactate to water.Mixing 5% lactate to water: 2.50g lactate and 47.5g water. With a 90% lactate solution to start with, I mixed 2.778g lactate(90) and 47.222g additional distilled water. I calibrated both my pH meters and measured the distilled water measured at pH 5.5 and 5.30. After adding the 2.778g lactate(90), got pH 1.9 and pH 1.84.For 10% lactate to water: 5.306g lactate and 47.812g water. Added 3.118g lactate(90) to existing solution (not including calculations here, got messy). Got pH 1.7 and pH 1.68.I am suspicious of the 1.2 and 0.5 because I don’t think lactic acid can get that low at 5% based on my measurements. If it’s that low, I wonder if it could be adulterated with HCl or some other strong acid. How are you measuring pH?Thanks
I use pocket pH meter.I was wondering too if they are adulterated.

I have some information about formulating AHA. I just wanted to know if it will remove stratum corneum completely at any percentage or just different percentages of stratum corneum at 5-30%?
