What if we don’t mix it at all after homogenization until temperature is down to 50°c?

At what temperature do structures usually form?

Currently i make two emulsions.

BTMS+ FA which is heated to 90°c.

SLS+FA which is heated to 60°c.

1% SLS: 5% FA

0.8% SLS: 4% FA

0.6% SLS: 3% FA

pH was 12 for all of them.

Liquid SLS has pH ~6 and no citric acid needed to adjust it’s pH.

1% powder SLS solution in filtered water has pH ~13.

How can i calculate the free base?

1% SLS powder needs 0.8% citric acid to reduce pH to 6 and during this it creates a lot of foam so it may have a lot of free base.

I will make another batch without citric acid and see what happens.

It is interesting that most of products were contaminated with gram- , a few with gram+ , very little with candida, and nothing with mold.

Does manufacturing contamination happen in this order like mostly gram- and and very little fungi or it is just a coincidence that they were contaminated like this?

Yes and i think it is the easiest to kill too. Just add some EDTA+ phenoxy or a formaldehyde releaser and it is dead. I don’t know why they haven’t done so and is there so much gran negative.

By ”rheology modifier” you mean thickeners like hpmc, xanthan etc or cocamide MEA?
