    G’day folks,

Does zeolite have any deodorising function in a roll-on o/w emulsion?

I’m being hit with a supplier’s marketing sheet, a.k.a. Technical Data Sheet, in which it is claimed that Zeolite is has a high capacity to adsorb water and oil. I’m assuming that the deodorising mechanism they’re claiming is based on adsorbing the precursors that get bacteria-munched into malodour; but if that is the case then wouldn’t dispersing the zeolite in a liquid phase defeat the purpose?

I’ve asked for more information from the distributor but all they’ve sent me is example formulas with no evidence of efficacy.

When I experimented with Zeolite….and I was working on a project for very VERY sensitive skin. I was using it under the only context of it increased surface area….hence expediting evaporation. I did find it was MORE irritating than the powders that ultimately ended up in the product…so it never made the final product. My concept has NO odor catching in it. Only odor prevention.

    Aloha.
