  Xathan Gum, Carbomer and other gelling agents/thickeners - can they hinder penetration of actives?

  Anyone know anything about this? I was in particular thinking about drug and non drug actives such as benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, niacinamide, botanical extracts, essential oils etc.

  Googled around, but didn’t find anything.

  all the thickening agents were used in low percentage ,so I dont think so.
