Hi everyone, this is a mystery whch I am trying to solve. I make a self-tanning lotion which is great at first, but after a couple of months it starts to thicken up. After about 4 months it becomes so thick that it is unusable. i also moved house recently and found one of the early samples from 2 years ago and it was rock hard!

Any ideas folks? Here are the ingredients:

    Water
    Dihydroxyacetone
    Olivoyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein
    Butyrospermum Parkii Butter
Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters (and) Jojoba Esters
    Cocos Nucifera Oil
    Caesalpinia Spinosa Gum
    Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol.

@GabyD without concentrations - even rough ones - it will be impossible to assist here. You could begin with initial water content. My question: what is holding this together as a uniform, stable  o/w emulsion? Something missing?
