Which surfactants blend would have stronger cleaning power as a laundry detergent for automatic machines?<div>

    A

    SLS 5%

    SLE2S 5%

    STPP 2%

    Wash water pH 8

    B

    SLS 9%

    SLE2S 1%

    STPP 2%

    Wash water pH 8

Water is very hard but both formulas are clear when diluted with hard water to 0.04% active surfactant.

You question can be reduced to which is stronger detergent SLS or SLES by searching I understood that is SLS.

Of course SLS is stronger but 50:50 blend foam much better than 9:1 or just SLS. I don’t know about cleaning power though

There is no evidence relation that the more foam the more detergent power.

In laundry washing machines you don’t want much foam. In front loading and high efficiency machines foam can cause issues with the sensors.

    Hi Abdullah,

    • Did you try to neutralize Sulphonic acid with Sodium Hydroxide or Sodium Silicate?

    • Is the product a washing powder or a laundry liquid?

    • If for a washing powder, is the process for a ribbon blender, V-cone blender or spray tower?

    • Do you have an antifoaming agent in the formula?

    • For added cleaning, did you consider adding a Sodium Percarbonate or Sodium Perborate with TAED (this will increase the efficacy of a washing powder)?

    • Do you have enzymes available to you?
