Where to find Ceteareth-25 and PVP/VA Copolymer in Portugal?
Hello, chemist.
I am currently involved in a project to develop a series of clear water based hair waxes. Thanks to the invaluable inputs of professional formulators here in the forum (I am a pharmacist with limited experience in cosmetic formulating), I was able to achieve the desired consistency, texture and transparency but the hold is lacking. Here is the basic formula:
Water: 51%
Ceteareth-20: 30%
Propylene glycol: 8%
Glycerol: 7%
Polysorbate 20: 2%
PVP: 2%
I tried increasing PVP level but it makes the gel more opaque and doesn´t increase the hold that much.
In almost all the beanchmarks, I see that the most used ingredient (besides water) is Ceteareth-25 but I can´t find any supplier in Portugal.
Would appreciate any help you can provide or tips about substitutions.

@Jorge Brenntag should be distributing all over the Iberian Peninsula. They feature BASF and SABO, two manufacturers of ceteareth-25.

No luck dealing with Brenntag. I am considering ordering from China via Alibaba. Any recommendation?

Not sure how they will compare in price…but at least they are reputable….
They also carry several versions of the PVP/VA Copolymer
