@CC7, 999 times out of 1,000, color is added to cosmetics in the initial manufacturing process, mostly because there are processing/energy synergies available when you do this.

It is a very rare occasion when color is added to a pre-made base, primarily because colorants are so very difficult to disperse and mix adequately, but also because it is much more difficult to protect the quality and sterility of a finished base than it is to separately protect the raw materials that go into that base.

Can you share some more details of what you’re trying to accomplish and what kind of volumes you’re planning on working with?
