What are the percentages in a formula?
This may seem like a dumb question so forgive me. I have recently started making my own makeup. I have made eyeshadow and I just use mini spoons for those formulas. I have recently looked into making a lipstick but the whole formual is in % and I have no idea what that means. It’s like, for example:
titanium dioxide 1.5%
Mica 1.8%
Beeswax 4.5%
(These are just examples not the real percentages)
So I’m very confused. Obviously it’s 1.5% out of 100% but what do I then convert it to, if that makes sense?
I am one confused apple so please help me lol! -

Percentages really only work when you’re weighing ingredients, instead of using measuring spoons. Invest in a small scale, you’ll be much better off, or use a lipstick making kit.
