Sound like a great new product, actually. “Try new and improved Bumpkiss, now with more Bump!”
(The word you’re looking for is bupkis, which is Yiddish-derived slang for “nothing at all”) http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/definition/american_english/bupkis I’m going to leave out the original Yiddish definition of this, because ick. -

GuestMarch 12, 2016 at 6:32 amHi everyone,
Thanks for including me in this colossally helpful and informative community!
I am Priya, a researcher in chemical science and technology for 5 years. Recently, I have started working in a research field that is hugely different from what I have done so far (devices and fabrication in nano scale): Making viable and effective soap formulation.
I came across this forum and even though this isn’t my expertise area, these discussions were insanely helpful. I was told in my lab to just follow a formulation that they were manufacturing for years and optimize it with one more ingredient. I was going crazy trying to find out the functions and effects of the given materials till I came here. I’d love to learn further and help you guys in any capacity if I could (Having said that, on an off chance if you have a question related to nano-fabrication, I’d be so-ooo glad to help). Have a happy day!

Greetings!
I am Al, from the Philippines.I am a Chemical Engineer by profession and I am currently working in a medium-scale Cosmetics Company here in our country. I am part in Quality Assurance and Research, Design, and Development. We produce a wide range of products from soaps, lotions, creams, facials, etc. but not for hair care and color cosmetics. I have just started learning the craft and I am very eager to deepen further my knowledge and understanding on everything about Cosmetics.I have limited knowledge on cosmetic formulations and current cosmetics trends. However, I can possibly help with inquiries regarding scale up and processing (although theoretical and not based from actual experience). -
Hello, I have a passion for health and discoverying what works to improve it. This has lead me as I’ve meet my skin care issue and my daughters over the years to do my own formulation. I look forward to being part of the discussion.

GuestMarch 29, 2016 at 11:46 pmHi everyone!
Good day to all of you.Glad to found this website. As for my education background, I’m a graduate from (Chemistry) Forensic Analysis course which is not really related to cosmetic field. Well I can say after all the basic is still “Chemistry”. Almost 2 years involved in personal care and cosmetic with very limited knowledge in this field. Hopefully all of you can help me by giving advise and sharing knowledge later ^^, -
My name is

Hello everyone, and thank you for accepting me into your group!I’m Jim from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Born and raised in Iowa, I graduated form Iowa State University with a degree in Landscape Architecture, and moved to Florida soon after. My adventures in cosmetic chemistry began about 10 years ago in soapmaking with a strong desire to create all-natural soap and skincare products. My relentless quest for proven, scientific information has led me to the conclusion that not all natural ingredients are safe, and not all synthetic ingredients are harmful. I’m here to learn more, and to contribute where I can.I’m one of those people with a restless mind who is interested in many things. Aside from landscape architecture, I’m obsessed with computers (I built my last two), home remodeling, cooking & baking, perfumery, and cold-process soap-making as well as all types of bath and body products. I’m also an inventor with a patent-pending on my new product, the Dish Grappler, designed to hold down lightweight items in the dishwasher. If I’m not home, you can probably find me at the Home Depot.

Hi Everyone!
I am new to formulating but have been a lab tech for about 5 years at multiple different cosmetic companies within formulation so I know a lot about the basic process. I have been regularly visiting the site for a little over a year now, but have finally decided to become a member. This site has been very insightful as I research new raw materials and begin my own formulations. Since I am so new I do not have much advice to give but I want everyone to know that even though I may not comment, your advice to others has helped my issues in the past and I am sure will help in the future. I find myself regularly jotting down notes of good advice to have for future reference.
Thank you again for all of your insight and expertise!

Hi everyone!
Thanks for approving my request to join here yesterday in which was my birthday so I consider it as a gift from you all anyway, my name is Amelia, living here in the Philippines. I have a start up small business producing liquid detergents with the help of my mom who is a pharmacist however at times, if a have questions in regards with formulations, she sometimes unable to answer since she’s not practicing her profession for years now. I tried to make research online however sometimes im unable to find the answers and sometimes hard to understand since I dont have any background with Chemistry. But as we slowly found out how to make Dishwashing Liquids, thats when started appreciating Chemistry, it was sooo cool. Im planning to study Chemical Engeneering hopefully this year. It was great that i found this forum, helping one another. I will definitely learn a lot from all of you! Thank you!!

GuestApril 28, 2016 at 9:07 amHi everyone,
My background is in other areas of applied science, but I have recently become interested in formulating cosmetics for my personal use. I am particularly interested in the efficacy of ‘anti-aging’ actives (such as retinol, vit C & E, Matrixyl & Matrixyl 3000, niacinamide) and how to ensure stability and penetration of these actives.
