Home Cosmetic Science Talk Formulating TEA in AHA Gel as pH adjuster

  • TEA in AHA Gel as pH adjuster

Posted by bsingle on December 5, 2020 at 12:23 pm

    Dear All,

I am making AHA gel (Anti-Ance Gel), by using Sepimax Zen as a thickener. Glycolic acid, Salicylic Acid, Ascorbic Acid, ethanol, Phenoxyethanol. When I mix all together its pH is very low (pH2.5), added triethanolamine to bring it down (to pH 4.5).

Please correct me in this formulation if anything is going wrong. Is it OK to add TEA as pH adjuster since I am using AHAs? will it react and deactivate AHAs?

Thanks to all of you in advance.
