soapberries cosmetic use?
Hello there, Im wondering why soapberry nuts are not used in cosmetics as surfactants for cleaning or emulsification??? is there a reason for this
also I have been looking for the exact composition of these surfactants in papers and I cant seem to find a paper with detailed information, does anyone have any reference?
what other natural sources of surfactants are there? help pls

Perry has posted on this over multiple posts. You needn’t call anything soap related “natural.” Many are derived from plant sources. “Natural”, in my experience, is a term that must be defined to some extent to be of any real use. (Different Topic).
We have experimented with Soapberry-based Surfactants. There are even some starting Formulations out there. However, our experience with a surfactant solely based on soapberry is that it underperforms and it will generally not give you the sensorials the consumer wants.

I should have been more specific, in this case by “natural” I mean, that it can be extracted or used directly without too much processing or treatment…
interesting formula, is there a reason why the extract (50% saponins) was only used at 1.5 % ???
