  • Silica dimethyl silylate remaining slightly grainy

Hello everyone. I’ve got a lip gloss formula consisting of castor and fractioned coconut oils, polyamide 3, peg-40 hydrogenated castor oil, and silica dimethyl silylate. The silica is at about 5.7%. The overall viscosity of this lip gloss is perfect, yet I’m still experiencing tiny little grains of silica within the gloss.
I ended up reheating the gloss to about 155° F while continuously mixing and *most* of the graininess has dissipated but not 100%. You only notice the grainy feel the first time you press your lips together, then it feels smooth, but I’m wondering what else I could do to get it perfectly smooth before it’s packaged. Any advice?
