    Hopefully this isn’t a dumb question!  I checked on the FDA website to see if zinc oxide is a safe alternative to titanium dioxide for lipsticks, and both ingredients are listed as safe for “Cosmetics including eye area use.”

    I’ve seen zinc oxide ointment used in lipsticks in DIY youtube videos in place of titanium dioxide.  Is this safe?
