Resveratrol is almost impossible due to the solubility issue. Licorice ‘extract’ well, that depends on how much licorice is in it… I import mine from China. 12% extract is in the form of a yellow-brown powder so expect quite a lot of colour if you use it.  The potassium salt of the pure acid is soluble. Any kind of liquid extract probably has risible amounts of licorice in it.

What do you expand them to do? If it’s brightening, neither works. If for claims, all work

    Alphabet-Arbutin + ethyl ascorbic acid + B3 very effective
arbutin from bear berry leaves is more effective than synthetic alpha arbutin

@Dtdang how did you measure the efficiency of this combo? Do you have a study to share with us?

Melanin occurs in layer 2 of skin
when it appears on outer layer it is dark color
arbutin can neutralize melanin on layer 2. But it can not do anything to dark spots on outer layer. B3 can stop melanin cells to spread to other cells
ethyl ascorbic is vitamin C making skin even and glow skin

If you have sensitive skin, try kojic acid dipalmitate as the whitening agent. it is less expensive than alpha-arbutin but still mild and effective.
