Problems with Shampoo
Hello Everybody, congrats for this helpfull and wonderful forum and site where you learn a lot.
My name is Juan Alfaro, I live in El Salvador, Central America. And I am still learning about the big and fascinating world of the cosmetic industry. I want to ask you a question that is concerning me with the Shampoo I am working. In my country, is really difficult to find surfactants, the ones i found are: Lauryl Ether Sodium Sulfate, CAPB, Cocamide DEA, so i started to work with them to create a mix of surfactants. I am using the following percentages: 12% of LESS (70%), 10 % of CAPB and 5% of Cocamide DEA. Then i am using other things like Polyquaternium 7, Pantenol, Hidrolyzed Keratin, Tocopherol, Oat extract, NaCl, Aloe Vera Extract, Fragance, Preservant.I am having problem with the result, the hair after using is not soft, feel rough and it is not hydrating correctly the hair. I have been working changing the amount of surfactant, adding more conditioning agent, more extract but it is always the same, the PH of my shampoo is 5.5.I kindly ask you for your help, because i can´t identify where the problem is, I have been working for several month in this, but can´t find a solution for my shampoo. What else can i add to impove the shampoo? is correct the amount of surfactants and the type i am using? (i don´t have any other surfactant to work with them now, i have to import from other countries to test)I appreciate your attention and help.Juan
