  Potassium sorbate in cleansing powder

  Hi there! This is theoretical but if I have a cleansing powder (so surfactants and filler) - would adding in potassium sorbate help with preventing any microbial growth should some water get into the product on accident?

  If the pH of the cleansing powder when mixed with water sort of rests at 5.5-6.

  I’m asking if the way that potassium sorbate function as a preservative - conversion to sorbic acid etc would work properly when in a dry format like a cleansing powder.
