    What are the monomers of polyquaternium-43?
    Wikepedia and CosIng seem to be erroneous.
    Other sources are varied.
    Wikipedia:
    acrylamide, acrylamidopropyltrimonium chloride, 2-amidopropylacrylamide sulfonate and dimethylaminopropylamine
    CosIng:

    @zetein This is a co-polymer, and it seems to have few monomers.     Your wikipedia reference seems to be closer in naming all.

    Yes, I know it’s made of 4 different monomers. The first two are determined, so I skipped them in the original post.
    However the last two don’t make sense to me.
    In the file you linked, it tells:
    Acrylamide-Acrylamidopropyltrimonium Chloride-2-Acrylamidopropyl Sulfonate-DMAPA
    So the first two are certain.
    The third one:2-Acrylamidopropyl Sulfonate
    Is it supposed to be a salt? If it’s a salt, why it doesn’t have its counter ion named? It should be Sodium 2-Acrylamidopropyl Sulfonate or others.
    What’s more strange is that if you go search exactly for 2-Acrylamidopropyl Sulfonate you won’t get many result, almost like it doesn’t exist. The more common monomer used for polymering is 2-Acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonate (in INCI as acryloyldimethyl taurate) which has an additional -CH3.
    Why would PQ-43 use the illusive one without -CH3, or in reality it’s 2-Acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonate that is used, all the data being erroneous?
    The last one: DMAPA, what does it stand for? If it’s dimethylaminopropylamine, how could it copoly with other three acrylate derivative?
    I would guess it shoule be yet another acrylate derivative dimethylaminopropylacrylamide? But why the data uses the ambiguous abbreviation only in this one.

    Now it’s even more confusing. A totally different list was given.
