Please critique my moisturizer, a guide for newbie
Hi
Sometimes I’m left with some expensive ingredients which I don’t
need and it would be a waste to just throw them away. So I will make some
simple moisturizers for myself, family and friends using these ingredients. As a newbie as I am, I keep the formula simple in case other
newbies who want to start making their own cream find this post useful.Formulation 1. – Low occlusive gel cream
A Glyceryl Stearate and PEG-100 Stearate 1
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride 2
Cetearyl
Alcohol 0.5Sodium Stearoyl Glutamate 0.1
Ascorbyl palmitate 0.05
B water to
100Disodium EDTA 0.2
Carbopol 940 1
Glycerin 3
C Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate* 5 - 10
Dimethicone 5 cst 1
TEA 1.5
Liquid Germall Plus 1
Fragrance 0.01
Heat A and B separately to
70 °CMix A into B under agitation
Cool down add C at 40 °C
I have Ascorbyl
Tetraisopalmitate left a lot right now so I’ll be using 5 or 10 in this formula.I only have Liquid Germall Plus and
Optiphen plus preservatives at hand right now.Any suggestion, advice, critique is appreciated.
Thank you.
