Perfume longery
hi everyone
I’m learning to make handmade perfume, and my perfume just can last about 4-10hrs (mostly about 4-6…), my ingredients is quite simple : essential oils (or fragrance oils) and absolute alcohol (99%)do you know how to make it last longer? I heard about perfume fixatives (both natural and synthetic) but I dont know which one is good for beginner like me. -

hi @quangphu1301. would you mind telling us how much essential oil you are adding in your formula?

There is a huge amount more in the creation of perfumes than mixing essential oils together.
Perfumers train for many years before they are able to create an item that can be described as a perfume (and not a random mixture of essentail oils and odorous chemicals).
Bearing that in mind, it is not possible to state which fixative you should use.
4-10 hours, I would think, is long enough for a perfume to last on the skin.

@johnb yes I agree, I’m just a beginner and I’m willing to learn more about perfumery, but its quite hard in my country to do it, so I have to “self-educate”
do u have any advice about how to do it or some good source to learn perfumery ? thanks -

@quangphu1301 this is a very high oil content. It would help a lot if you can learn more on the process of aging etc. I’m not a perfumist but I heard there is a process of aging for perfumes, just like the process of fermenting alcoholic beverages to make them taste better over time.
