Natural Fragrances added to formula
Say I want to develop a natural ingredients body wash.
But i want to allow my customers to add their own natural oil fragrance . Do the chemist have to create a formula that have that percentage factor of the natural Fragrance oil? -

That would depend on how you want the final product to be. If you want to tell the consumer exactly how much fragrance they should add, then you’ll need a chemists to help you figure out what that will be. But if you don’t care exactly how much the consumer adds and you don’t care about whether the product gets cloudy, then I don’t think it matters.

All fragrance and EOs are different. They all require different amount of solubiliser. As Perry said, adding it straight to the product will make it cloudy, plus some fragrance oils are so hard to solubilise that they will just form oil droplets. They also can have quite a negative effect viscosity.

The best thing for me is to inform the chemist and work it out with him. My customers want that option to add fragrance. Would it be best just to have a selected number of fragrance thats work with my formula?

An approach would be for you to offer a selection of fragrances that consumers could purchase directly from you that you know would incorporate successfully into your base cleanser formula.

How do determine which fragrance is the correct fragrance to provide?
